there is no such thing as stranded when there is a bus or Amtrak station. There is always taxis, Uber, etc

Most likely case: He was a simple employee that would have been fired if he didn’t perform that heartless action against his better judgment. He also had probably been there for 8-10 hours and wanted to go home and was emotionally drained, tired and not even registered that it was dangerous.

I worked Public Safety at a Ski Resort and we had a few locations where the Mountain Trolley would stop that we had to close at a certain hour no matter what the weather was like out. The BS we got from our supervisor was that the resorts insurance didn’t cover guests being there after hours. We were also told it was grounds for termination if we let them stay there. So it might not have been his call to make.

um, he paid for an amtrak ticket, the train is late. meaning the station is still open. station doesn't close until the last train runs. I'd call the cops. he paid for a ticket, which includes waiting in the station.
