During our visit to Hanoi, Vietnam, we met a Japanese traveler who was exploring the city all on his own. At first, he was very quiet, keeping mostly to himself. But something made me approach him and start a simple conversation—and that small moment turned into something meaningful. As we talked, he slowly opened up and began sharing his experiences in Vietnam. What started as a casual chat became a genuine connection. We exchanged stories, laughter, and perspectives as fellow travelers far from home, yet somehow finding comfort in each other’s company. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. We exchanged Facebook accounts and took photos together—simple memories that would later mean so much more. After three days, we all returned to our respective countries. Then one day, we saw his post on Facebook. He tagged us and shared that the best experience he had in Vietnam was meeting a Filipino who welcomed him and became his friend. In a place far from home, we didn’t just visit a new country—we touched someone’s life, and he touched ours too.

May naka sabay din kami buong tour sa Joiners papunta kay Apo Whang Od Japanese girl naman ( Mika ) buong byahe kada stop over namin napansin ko wala syang kasama mag Isa Lang sya . Nung pangatlong stop over namin hindi nako nag pa tumpik na kausapin kasi nga Alam ko yung pakiramdam na gusto ko mag tanong pero nahihiya ako haha, pero dahil natutunan ko ang maging madaldal, aba haha kasi parang ang lungkot ng buong travel nya, Wala manlang syang makausap kahit dumayo man sya sa pinas para kay Apo, English hindi nya Gano naiintindihan, Kaya gumagawa ako ng Paraan kahit e translate ko into Japanese. Kwento nya natatakot sya nung nag Stop over kami kasi bakit kailngan ng I'd bago pumasok sa lugar nila apo di nya naiintindihan ung bat need pa ng I'd ang I'd nya daw pang japan sobrang salamat sya kasi na explain ko saknya. Yung memories hanggang makauwi sya dala nya ung moment na simple lang na lumapit ako kasama un sa tanda nyang Alaala nakakatuwa Sabi ko marami pang magaganda dito sa Pilipinas balik ka ❤️
