There is SO much behind this transformation, and I’m not going to pretend it was all rainbows and butterflies. First, I found a naturopath who transitioned me off levothyroxine and onto a natural thyroid medication (yes… pig hormones, which sounded scary at first 😅). Then I had to accept cutting out gluten because of Hashimoto’s which was REALLY hard. Slowly, my inflammation started coming down. I began removing processed foods one by one. I also lost weight during seasons of chronic health stress, and I won’t sugarcoat that either. There were doctor’s appointments, searching for specialists, endless researching, and pushing through healthcare anxiety while begging to be taken seriously. I struggled with my health constantly, and it took a huge toll on me mentally and physically. But I kept going… and I still am. Now, I’ve mostly cut out processed foods and drinks. Do I still have moments? Absolutely. I still have candy sometimes. I still slip up. I go to the gym 3–4 times a week, but I’ve learned something just as important… to REST when my body tells me to. Healing is a process. It takes time. It takes grace. It takes consistency, not perfection. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to see where I’ll be one year from now. If you were just diagnosed, please give yourself grace and patience. It is a huge life adjustment, but you CAN do this. It isn’t easy, but don’t give up. I believe in you 🤍 #hypothyroidism #chronicillness #stress #weightloss #determination
