That's long process simply just use the powers to solve for x 2X+10=X+5 2X-X+10=X-X+5 X+10=5 X+10-10=5-10 X+0=-5 X=-5

That's very good my brother.... You can also use another method again from the laws of indices which you drop the powers and multiply with the base even if the bases are not the same like 2(2x+10) = 5(x+5) 4x+20=5x+25 20-25= 5x-4x (grouping like terms) -5=x or x=-5.
