From my experience with the diaspora, it’s very important to research the state you plan to live in before traveling. In some states in USA , public transportation systems like trains and buses work very well, so getting around is easy. However, in other states, driving is essential, and you’ll need to know how to drive to move around conveniently.Because of this, it’s advisable to obtain a Ghanaian driver’s license before traveling to the United States. Having one can make the process of getting a U.S. driver’s license easier you may only need to pass a written road test and a driving test. Without prior driving experience, the process can take longer, as you’ll need to first get a learner’s permit and go through additional steps before obtaining a full license. Many employers in the U.S. ask whether you can drive, and not being able to do so can limit your opportunities, even if you have strong qualifications. Once you overcome this hurdle, you’ll be closer to achieving your goals. In addition, it’s important to stay disciplined, have a clear plan, and know what you want in life and be prayerful .The good news is that if you have qualifications from Ghana and have obtained your Green Card, you can apply for credential evaluation through WES (World Education Services) in the U.S. or Canada. They will contact your former institution in Ghana, evaluate your academic credentials (from a university or polytechnic), and send the evaluation to employers in your chosen professional field.
