@var.aunevik: The design world is currently obsessed with micrographics, these tiny car-window style codes now show up on skincare, beauty and tech to signal engineering, testing and trust in a world filled with invisible systems. but is this trend here to stay??

Fun fact is the black dots on windows are called Frits, I believe they help with heat distribution so no warping or optical distorion occurs

got suuuuper high one time and I spent so much time just staring at the glass code on my car window (wasn’t the one driving) and tbh it did give me an appreciation for the style/aesthetic of it overall

I call it “textural typography” for some reason. Not meant to be readable.

as a designer for film/TV, I replicate these graphics all the time - you'd be surprised how much they complete and blend an otherwise obvious graphics coverup or prop make into the set - I even had to do some for London underground train carriages!

This all an offshoot of the 90’s aesthetic. These symbols showed up at a larger scale and more consistently in print, movie legal copy, and so much more in that era. Then we hid them, and now they’re being brought back at an even larger scale to help deliver the 90’s/2000’s nostalgic feel.
