as someone who lives in tokyo i personally think that ikebukuro is one of the best places to stay! in terms of train access and shopping!

INCIDENT | Japanese Streetwear :
We tried Asakusa twice and Shinjuku once in our first two trips. Fast forward 5 trips to Japan and we are not staying any other place than Asakusa. We just love the chill vibe around there. Nothing matches the energy at 9am in a small coffee shop, a walk next to the river and the views to the Sky Tree

we stayed in Kanda, and it was half the price of other locations we looked at. The hotel was a 2-min walk to the Yamanote line and 13-min to Tokyo station. It was a great central area and had some neat shops/resturants in walking distance

I said I wouldn’t like to stay in Shinjuku but after visiting Japan for the 3rd time last summer and staying 2 metro stops away from Shinjuku I think it’s one of the best areas if you want nightlife and easy public transport access 🥲

Stayed around Ueno, went shopping around shibuya. All fun and games til I missed the last train and had to pay for taxi.

Why is no one saying Shinagawa? Everytime I’m in Japan I always stay there. Its CHEAP booking & EASIEST transportation to go everywhere (Shibuya, Asakusa) without ANY transfer
