Our house is about 50 years old and the hot and cold water is reversed, but we've never bothered switching the tap colours around. whenever anyone comes to visit we have to remind them hot is cold and cold is hot

we can run the washer and dryer at the same time but you should turn the lights off. definitely don't run the dryer and the heater together or you have to go flip the breaker
