100k takes so long to hit but buckle down as hard as you can to get to 100 and then 200 as fast as you can. I feel like once you hit 200 it goes so much faster. I hit 200 and 300 in the same year now I was hitting it as hard as I can but it starts to move so much faster at 200

The compounding gets crazy after 1 mil. Last month I went from 1.6M to 1.95M just for the month!

Keep going! I felt the same way for so long, but I just hit $100K in my 401k this month and it took 7 years. I think 7.6 years is the average timeframe. But the next $100k should only take about 4 years! Thats the compounding. You got this!

Consider this analogy. I reference it to drive the point about the weight of compound interest. You are to receive 1 cent ($0.01) on day 1 that magically doubles in value every day for 30 days. You don’t hit $100k for the first 24 days (80% of the time). The last three days are most critical because that’s when you hit a million plus. If you make it to day 30, you get a little over $5.3mil. Most people don’t make it to the last three days because they get impatient and frustrated during the initial 24 days. Keep chipping away at it. At some point, your contributions will be a drop in the bucket compared to the growth from compounding.

Albert Einstein said compounding interest is the 8th wonder of the world. the needle will move when you least expect it. When the compounding starts working for you its a beautiful ride. You WILL be a member of the millionaire club, guaranteed.

That first 100k definitely feels like a grind. The effects of compounding start to become more and more noticeable once you hit that point though! Good luck with hitting your goal 👍🏻.

I absolutely understand and I feel that pressure, especially since I’m 45 years old and I’m feeling real guilty for not starting sooner. So doing research I found that to save 100 K takes about seven years with consistent and steady investing. For me personally, it’s teaching me patience and delayed gratification which is something our generation and younger it really is challenging. But I’m also learning to kind of ignore it because focusing on it you will become very discouraged so it’s something that has to happen in the background. The focus will be just on consistent contribution versus the timeline because the just focusing on the timeline will drive you insane.

Yeah, I'm 56 and blew my retirement in my 30's. Now, we're struggling trying to hit 100K. My wife and I have two more years to be debt free again. Yes, again had to pull some money to purchase a used vehicle.
