@rollingwithjess: I had a couple of people asking if I could do a bit more of an explaination about TMR so here it is. TMR stands for Targeted Muscle Reinnervation, which means the nerves are stitched into the muscle so they have somewhere to go. VD: Jess is a 19 year old white female with long brown hair in two plaits. She is wearing white pajamas that have a pink design on them. She is sat on her bed speaking directly to the camera. Text over the screen reads “What is TMR? Explaination for those asking” End VD. #amputation #tmramputation #targetedmusclereinnervation #amputee #disabled

I know all about CRPS but when I was diagnosed it was called RSD Reflex sympathetic dystrophy. This was early 90s, so names change

The fact it can reduce phantom limb pain is amazing to me. Like you’ve still got the same nerves but it can reduce it!

I had TMR/RPNI with my amputations. My surgeon told me that it's more painful immediately after surgery but less painful in the long term. I'm 7 months out now and I have zero phantom pain. Wishing you the best!

Sending best wishes 🩷 very proud of you for going through this process 🩷🩷 is the aim to eventually get a procestic or was the TMR purely to reduce pain risks? Xxx
