Apparently you have to be in HIGH SCHOOL for your clothes to be considered “trendy.” 🙄😂 I need to know… WHO ELSE HAS BEEN PERSONALLY VICTIMIZED BY PLATO’S CLOSET?! Because explain this to me: I can walk into a secondhand clothing store with cute, gently used, trendy pieces from the EXACT SAME BRANDS AND STYLES THEY HAVE HANGING ON THEIR RACKS… and somehow there is ALWAYS a reason they “can’t take” my clothes. 🤨 And I have to ask… WHO decided that a bunch of 16-year-old girls who are still figuring out how to dress themselves should be the ultimate authority on what is “cool,” “trendy,” or worth buying?! Meanwhile, you’ll see some VERY questionable stuff on the racks that looks like it survived three middle-school dances and a washing machine fight. 😭 I’m not saying they should accept everything. I completely understand that secondhand stores have to be selective about condition, season, demand and inventory. BUT when you’re bringing in cute, current, gently used clothing from brands they literally sell and suddenly your clothes are “not what they’re looking for”… …it starts feeling a LOT like they’re profiling the person selling the clothes instead of judging the clothes. 👀 Especially when you’re not a teenager. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m just salty. 😂 So tell me: have you ever been turned away by Plato’s Closet or another resale/thrift store when you KNOW your clothes were cute, current and completely on trend? I want the stories. 👇🏼 #PlatosCloset #SecondhandFashion #ResaleFashion #ThriftTok #FashionOver30
