So sad and disappointed about Omar Attan, the first Somali referee ever chosen for the World Cup. He is one of the best referees selected for 2025, and it is wrong that this has happened. America has turned the FIFA World Cup into politics, stopping referees, treating fans badly and treating players differently. It is disgusting, and no one should be made to feel less than human. In the eyes of America it feels like Africans are nothing. We saw how Senegal were treated, how the Iraqi team were treated, and even the Iranian team faced unfair rules. They had to base themselves in Mexico and travel over just to play then leave again straight after. This is not normal, and politics has ruined the whole experience. Many people thought Qatar would be bad, but it turned out to be the best experience ever. America does not know anything about football, and it was never right for them to host it. We also know there is a history of bad feeling towards Somalia from their side, and it feels like they do not want to see us succeed. But this will not break us. They might have stopped Omar from entering their country, but that will never stop his dream. We stand with you brother, your journey and your dream will continue forever. This should not just unite Somalia, it should unite all of Africa. I hope this opens the eyes of African leaders so they can see this for what it really is. This is not just something that happened to Senegal or a Somali referee or to Iraqi or Iranian teams. It can happen to anyone. We must not look away or think it does not concern us. I want every African to stand stronger together. Let us take this as an experience, something that makes us stronger not something that disheartens us. We will keep pushing forward, and together we will make Somalia great. Somalia hanoolato 🇸🇴 #StandWithYouBrotherOmar artan #DreamWillLiveOn #ProudlySomali #AfricanUnity #FairPlayNotPolitics
