no, there is a state law that all apartment MUST be up to par no matter what, yes, AC unit is part of your contract. look over your contract and it's there under maintenance. that includes refrigerator, stove and AC unit, dishwasher and a microwave must be in working order at all time, now let'ssay the microwave doesn't work for any reason AND is part of the rental agreement, the LANDLORD HAS TO REPLACE IT BY LAW. So, yes, it's a law that the landlord HAS TO REPLACE ANYTHING THAT'S IN LEASE AGREEMENT. THAT LEASE IS AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT THAT YOU IN FACT AGRUE IN THE COURT. I believe in your area your paying way above rental price. it's in fact states that the landlord is responsible for the repair of that AC unit. and the reason I said this is went through it myself. for 2 years the owner and landlord refused to fix the AC unit, keep this in mind it was during COVID. I would have gone to the Attorney general office and the Governor Abbott office and file a complaint. oh, I did in fact do that and I did in fact get results. I understand you move out but you have tenants right. if you don't find on Attorney general website go to HUD.gov. and tell it to Governor Abbott office as well.

I had an AC issue at these apts in Medical center during the most brutal summer and I called Code Enforcement, they sent an officer over immediately to investigate and all of a sudden the apts were able to replace my AC and fix it cause they would be fined everyday that the AC was not functional.

whatever you do, don't go to mission at medical apartment. had this issue and there was a water leak they never fixed. they did not let me leave the lease but housing was not inhabitable

Seemingly, the leasing agent should be required to inform you or disclose if you’re apt was not move in ready? Lesson learned. I will do a walk through the next time I lease.

Did you pass this information along to the other tenants in your building? Because I would’ve printed out this information on a sheet and slid it under everyone’s door about the hot water and being able to terminate their lease because of it.
