@reverseinsulinresistance: Most people think of medication as the main tool. But biology does not work in isolation. It responds to layers. Metformin targets one pathway very effectively. But your metabolism is shaped by dozens of inputs, happening every single day. And this is where the real opportunity sits. Not in replacing medication. But in creating an environment where your body needs less support over time. One useful way to think about it is “metabolic friction”. Every time you spike your blood sugar, skip movement, or eat without slowing absorption, you are adding friction to the system. Over time, that friction compounds. But the opposite is also true. Small inputs that reduce friction tend to reinforce each other. Better glucose control leads to better energy. Better energy makes movement easier. Movement improves insulin sensitivity. And the cycle starts to work in your favour. This is why consistency often outperforms intensity. Not because the individual strategies are stronger than medication, but because they are happening multiple times per day. Quietly. Repeatedly. Cumulatively. If someone is already on metformin, the real question is not “what can replace it?” It is: “What can I add daily that makes my system work better alongside it?” That is where meaningful change usually begins. Out of everything you are currently doing, what feels like the easiest habit to make consistent first?

I agree with more fibre and walk post meal but apple cider vinegar didn't hekp much and is not convenient to carry it with you all the time. Apple cider vinegar tablets are also useless.

True! I found a big difference since practising these for a yr now. I started taking fibre, ate my foods in a diff order and still have a few cheats along the way, walk every day and move around after meals this has brought my HbA1c from 6.8 to 6!

slower glocose absorption does not solve the whole problem. your amount of glucose producing foods does. so eating less of the glucose generation foods is key
