My kids are 16 and 13 and 3 and they don't stay alone me and my husband get paranoid... My son don't babysit we get a babysitter for all of them including the 16 yr old lol if they don't feel like going somewhere either we stay or me and my husband stay with them... Things are not like they used to be when I was a kid... It's not we don't trust my son but it's not his job to babysit...

To answer why they are being so nice….bc it’s not their job to issue the punishment. They are making the arrest and there are children involved. It’s better for the children and easiest if they are respectful and calm and give her the moment to help facilitate arrangements for the children as to not disrupt their life or emotions by placing them in a foster home. If they weren’t calm she may not answer questions about where the children currently are, what school they are in etc.
