I have ZERO patience for the insidious entitlement from this generation. everything from pensions to their attitude towards young people. How dare you come into MY HOUSE and manage MY CHILDS hobbies. ARE YOU MAD 😭. OP imo shouldn’t have let her stay the night and threatened to get the police involved to show his son that 1) he will always support him and 2) (say it with me yall) ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. I talked with my mum two years ago because I needed a shoulder, no empathy and constant criticism. I said to her I won’t bother her with these things any more and, almost three years later, she hasn’t called me ONCE. This neo colonial superiority that our elders got from their life is something we need to remove from the community. Simple.

OP please go spend a weekend at mom's with the kids. Let me introduce ya'll to a new game. 1 flush per night. Each visiting family member must take 1 valuable item per night, wrap in toilet paper and flush it. E.g. a wedding ring, dentures, bracelets, favourite eyeshadow, blush or lipstick. Oh and definitely involve stepladder too. Inclusive is everything. His watch, his alarm clock radio (the final flush, because this will block the fucking toilet).
