Dizziness? Try these 4 simple exercises to release AND retrain the muscles involved! Two key muscles often involved in dizziness and upper neck tension are the SCM and suboccipitals. When they stay tight or in spasm, they can trigger dizziness, headaches, neck pain, eye sensitivity, and even that “off balance” feeling. 💡 What’s happening? You can’t just release the muscles — you also have to build strength and control so your body stops putting tension right back into them. That’s how you improve posture and movement without constantly irritating the same areas. 🔥 Why this matters If your neck lacks control, every movement reinforces poor positioning and keeps these muscles tightened up. You need both mobility and stability to move without symptoms. 🛠️ Exercises to reduce dizziness + improve control 1.) Chin tuck into band Push the back of your head into the band while tucking your chin to strengthen deep neck stabilizers. 2.) Suboccipital release Use your thumbs at the base of the skull and drag downward to release tension in the upper neck. 3.) Quadruped rotations On hands and knees, keep your head aligned with your spine and rotate side to side with control. 4.) SCM stretch Tilt toward the painful side and pull away to stretch the SCM and reduce tension.
