does it have multiple effects or what? how can you pick and choose which parts to negate with a hand trap? I thought If you negate a card it negates the whole card? wouldn't negating it undo the destruction of their monsters?

i mean he's right but there's not a single top yugioh player that will tell you a good card is not worth running cause you pay too many lifepoints. the only lp that matters is your last one, it is a resource to be used and win the game, a win at 1 lp is just as valid as a win at 8k lp

life points are irrelevant especially when you half it since you cannot die from using it vs a fixed number. also if you destroy all your opponents monsters then you probably win that turn anyway
