Nope. I work in a niche field of engineering (naval architecture) and my field still hires like 50% mech e’s. It’s such a broadly applicable degree you see them everywhere in engineering

Mechanical engineers are critically important right now for robotics because the tech world is realizing AI that sits in a void (like an AI b2b saas) isn’t as useful in the real world, you have to actuate and build physical things 🤞

Mech E dropout here, i sell manufacturing equipment, life is nice. it’s hard the first 3-5 years building pipeline but i think after that i’ll be printing over 250k working 20 hrs a week😞
