I'm scared of bees :
my grandma asks for wine, shes not on hospice but shes 88 years old, I'm not going to deny her a drink and when my grandfather had dementia all he wanted was a cigarette. we are in no position to deny suffering people some relief

I've been sober for 5 years with really no plans to change that. however, when it comes to final days, if I ask for a drink someone better give it to me

the second my dad found out he was being put on hospice his first question was "so I can eat what I want?" he sent me out at 3AM to find biscuits and gravy with bacon and eggs and captain Morgan and coke.

As a celiac if I ever go into hospice I’m just gonna ask for as much cinnamon bread and real pizza as possible

It was my grandmothers birthday. My aunt and I went to visit the nursing home. We brought her a little whiskey and a pack of newports. My mom threw an absolute fit. YOU NEED TO KEEP GRANDMA OFF THE CIGARETTES! SHES GOING TO GET LUNG CANCER. It was grandmas 106th birthday. 😂 Her name was Doris Rudell. She was magical! I miss her every day.

My brother in law was on hospice on morphine to control pain. They wouldn’t give him more because they didn’t want him to get addicted…

My grandma is 94 with slow acting cancer, she loves little donuts from one bakery. I was talking about it to my friend and they literally said, that it’s unhealthy and she shouldn’t eat it, because she may have a shorter lifespan. She’s 94, let her be happy.

My grandmas Dr. told us, “not to change any of her routine. We can’t stop it nor will we slow it down. Let her live her the rest of her life the way she wants.” I couldn’t agree anymore with her!

We’d “sneak in” coffee for my grandma when she was in hospice 😂 the nurses really didn’t want her having caffeine but she drank coffee all day everyday since I’ve known her

we had a conversation about hospice care in nursing school today and my professor said something that altered my perspective. hospice care isn’t about making them better, it’s about making them comfortable

Because at one point it has to be quality of life over the quantity. All my granny wanted was a cup of coffee which her doctor had previously told her to cut it out, when she went on hospice they told her she could have as many as she wanted
