it’s aggravating how understudied women’s health is, but not going to the doctor is nottttt the answer. This isn’t something to boycott. It’s your health, and going to the doctor… no matter how limited… can save your life. My 24 year old sister almost lost her life due to an ovarian cyst. It’s true that she is really mad that they have no “cure” but they are at least able to keep us living another day.

I think what youre saying is true and what she's saying is true. there's this phenomenon online where if someone doesn't call out every single nuance of a topic in a video, others will invalidate their thoughts. there is room for critical discussion about the lack of effort put into female Healthcare while also acknowledging its still important to see those Healthcare providers as advancements are being made. was the original creator being casual in her video and not leaving space for those more nuanced discussions? yes. but why is it her job to talk about every intricacie of the topic when she just wanted to promote sexual active individuals to seek healthcare (which seems like a good cause to promote)?

Let's talk about the father of gynecology, and that's why so many women specifically, black women are scared of gynecology and the medical practices in. The only reason we have pap smears and other medical procedures for women is because some slave owner got curious about his slaves and butchered and experimented on their bodies. Gynecology wasn't created to protect women from health problems, It was created to torture them. Women have every right to be nervous and scared.
