Bob Odenkirk wrote that sketch, but the character was actually based on a real guy named Matt Foley, Chris Farley’s college rugby teammate who became a Catholic priest. That’s who they named the character after, and it’s the same Matt Foley who gave Farley’s funeral speech. Look it up. I know the family. Matt Foley is a real person, part of Farley’s life.

I work for a mobile pet vaccine clinic where the offices are in Naperville right by the dupage river and we drive all over the Midwest in our vans. So we actually live by that river he is talking about
