The genius part is that he came up with the “sneak it out of tribal” part. It isn’t just a prop to save him and throw some votes at that tribal, but now it’s a continued threat in the game. And he is the only person to know Aubrys idol wasn’t found and still could be out there. Genius play, could go down as an all time Survivor moment.
