Question, sir. How’s I’m wanting to go from my old aluminum specialized allez I bought in 2008. I use it to commute 32 miles round trip. Will a new carbon gravel bike with some gravel tires feel noticeably slower? I ride on very rough roads so I want to make the switch

For me it’s one cyclocross bike with 2 1/2 wheel sets, road, off-road, and one rear wheel with a trainer tire. Simple is good, for me at least.

2 bikes for sure.. commuting in a city with agresive aero bike is a pain in the ass. no need speed on commute . gravel is for bad weather, commute, winter etc. and road, for groups, race, workouts, long rides. 2 best combo what i need.

I was more concerned about the brake run or needing to adjust the caliper placement for my setup. I think another wheel set with road tires for my gravel bike is in the near future. I have a nice, dedicated road bike, but I'd like to have an option for when I take it down for maintenance.

Sir Chris can you rate my converted mtb, I just changed it into a drop bar just recently. My Gs is the shimano cues but I still don't have the caliper so it's still mt200. for the drive train it's all cues u6000 and for the dual control lever is cues u6030(sti)

I can't afford having multiple bikes (since I'm a working student), I also don't have spacious bike storage at home, and I mostly ride on pavement (with occasional road uphills and downhills) every commutes. so I came up with this "frankenstein" city bike build, with traits from a time trial bike, mamachari bike, gravel bike, and urban mountain bike. Prioritising versatility, puncture resistance (Continental Contact Urban 29x2.0 rear/Vittoria Randonneur 700x38c front), durability, and a bit of speed performance.....despite the weight (which I took advantage for momentum but suffers slow acceleration)
