I hate this for you....people are so ignorant. I get that and I am still fighting for a diagnosis, I'm about a year in. Have had the symptoms for 2 1/2 years now.

I’ve heard it all just like you. One of the things that makes me so upset “but you look so pretty can’t even tell you sick” mind you I have a walker and I barely move around. Yes when I leave the house I put on make up and do my hair it looks differently at home . This illness took everything from me. Not only I have MS but I also have terminal illness and when I say that I get oh just be positive and you be fine and don’t forget to pray. My body is shutting down I had brain surgery to give me some comfort and some ppl don’t get it. Sometimes I just don’t even explain to people anymore. I’m very sorry what you going through this Illness is so vicious and lonely. It takes away everything from us. I’m sending you love and hugs ❤️

Oh my god. The first two have been said to me several times by my own family! It's like, didn't you just see me give up the career I loved and was awesome at, that required two degrees and thousands of hours of training? If I could work, I'd still be there! 😳 When I was diagnosed, I found far more comfort in viewing it as a random occurrence, than "everything happens for a reason!" Sending 1000 spoons your way! 🥄

Man the frustration & pretty much straight up anger at every different comment you listed, lol. And the finale? Yeah we’re strong. We have to be. Not just because of having the disease & dealing with the symptoms it causes. But because on top of all that we get the family & friends that question how sick we are. Are we faking it today? Yesterday? Why do you always bring up your disease? Can’t you move on? It can’t REALLY affect so much of your body & systems.

The gasp followed by a non-consentual hand on my shoulder or wheelchair and a "what happened?" or an unwanted "I'll pray for you." Everytime. So now I wear t-shirts with sayings like "uninspiring disabled person."
