@momchef32: Incredibly soft sub rolls! these make the best sandwiches, and since they are nice and wide, you can really fill them! This recipe makes 6 rolls: 1 1/2 TBS all purpose flour 2 1/2 TBS milk 2 1/2 TBS water Cook on medium heat til thickened then let cool til warm. Add to: 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 cup warm milk 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast 3 TBS melted and cooled butter 1 tsp salt 1 egg 1 1/2 TBS milk powder 1/4 cup sugar Mix on stand mixer for 10 minutes on low speed. Remove dough from bowl, lightly oil your bowl and place dough back in. Cover with a damp towel and let rise in warm area til doubled in size 1 1/2 hours. Divide dough into 6 equal sections, shape as shown and place on parchment lined baking pan, cover and let rise about 30-45 minutes. Brush with milk or water on each roll sprinkle top with seasonings and cheese. Bake at 350° 20 minutes until internal temp is 190° #homemade #bread #dinner #sandwich #subs

So this is similar to Japanese tangzhong bread, with your topping it’s kind of Italian. I also use the roux phase with whole wheat. As always thanks.
