Spanish was my first language too but When I started school kindergarten I learned to speak English in 3 months. I only talk English with friends or at school and only Spanish at home with family so I won’t lose my Spanish. I am equally fluent in both languages. Vale will be okay!

I’m white and didn’t speak English until I was 3 because my mom worked 7 days a weak and my baby sitter only spoke Spanish. Valentina will be okay yall are tripping

Spanish was my first language, even the daycare I went to had Spanish speaking teachers/kids, when I started regular school over the years I did start to forget some of my Spanish :( I still struggle with finding the right words sometimes

My whole family speaks Spanish but my daughter only picked up a little bit of it. Thankfully they offer dual language classes in our district. This year was her first year in it & her Spanish is AMAZING now 🥰

There’s a Hispanic school that has different branches throughout Texas, maybe that’d be of interest to her for Valentina? I think it might be a charter school or something tho 💗

Okay the closest schools that ik are by her are all the Montbello ones I think they teach in Spanish for the most part up to fourth grade

I grew up in a spanish only speaking household so as a child i only spoke spanish . When i started school I Had bilingual teachers pre-k to like 2nd grade and by 3rd grade i spoke english too, now im 25 and fluent in both languages:) Valentina will learn english in school easily !

I’m glad she’s strict about her baby learning Spanish. Valentina may be 2nd generation born in the US, but she should still learn it. Lots of bilingual elementary schools popping up nowadays. We live in a world that is multilingual, speaking more than one language will open up so many doors for her in the future!
