Not sure if the line about Charlie Baker was a joke but the Charlie Card is a reference to a 1940s folk song about a guy named Charlie who gets trapped on the T because he doesn’t have a nickel to pay to get out (back then you had to pay an exit fare)

as a transplant to boston, it’s so easy to complain about the T, but it’s honestly a godsend when you compare it to other metro systems in the country!

The T is a cute little system. But the trains are only half of the picture. The buses will either funnel you to subway stops, or get you from line to line. There’s so many routes that go from line to line and avoid downtown. For all the locals griping, it’s a decent system. And new leadership has changed the culture and has made reliability a top priority.

Idk if your rage baiting but idc someone might believe it THE CHARLE CARD IS NOT NAMED FOR CHARLIE BAKER it was here a decade before he was governor its named for the guy in “M.T.A.” A song by the kingsman trio to protest a fair increase in the 40’s

Visited boston for the first time about a month ago for a Bruins game. I've never really been a fan of big cities, but boston, and especially the T really changed my mind about them. I loved the city and the transportation was super easy.

the Charlie card isnt named after Charlie Baker.... it was in existence before he was ever Governor. Its named after the main character of 1948 protest song called M.T.A

I loved living in Boston. I know people who have lived there for a long time who hate the T, but as someone who lived there briefly, I have never lived in a place even kind of as transit accessible before or since

The main issue is it’s not connective at all. Loses a lot of its usefulness and convenience when you can only connect downtown. ALSO they stop service SO EARLY every day

When I lived there the trains were old and constantly broke but it’s still one of the best systems in the US. And Boston is somewhere it’s better to not have a car which is a rarity
