guidance released by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) instructs police officers to refrain from violating civil rights, stop and account or abusing unjustified Section 43 of the Terrorism Act of 2000 when interacting with citizen journalists carrying out photography in public spaces. Section 43 of the Terrorism Act 2000 should be a LAST RESORT, and only when reasonable suspicion exists. No one is obliged to give an account for a lawful activity. The police regularly commit offenses under section 26, unlawful conduct and abuse of powers, though rarely prosecuted. public photography alone is not grounds for detainment or arrest or the giving of personal information. And certainly not the use of anti terrorism legislation, as instructed by the chief constable to the police. these cops are the only ones breaking the law here. Since the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 came into force, two officers have been charged with an offence under Section 26. Neither charge resulted in a conviction for the offence. That's 11 years, just 2 charged and no convictions. There are literally hundreds of videos documenting clear breaches of section 26 by the police. A crime where no victim has ever received any justice.
