Plumber here. Any heat based drain cleaner is horrible for your pipes. Not only can it burn through metal drains if not washed all the way through (if it didn’t get the clog it won’t) then it will actually harden into almost a cement making it impossible to even snake later and requiring a replacement

Boiling water will crack your porcelain sinks, if it’s a bathroom or shower drain sink use nair most of the time it’s hair, if it’s your kitchen sink you can try this but usually you can use ice and dawn soap to clean your disposal, and hot water help break up grease on your drains but usually it just blocks up further down the line there’s not much they can break down grease other than a jetter and cleaning snake just avoid grease in your drains as much as possible
