Great advice. I started out framing and realized right away that I didn’t need the $300 pair of Occidental pouches. Start cheap and work your way up. Check out garage sales, estate sales, Facebook marketplace. Pouches last forever if you treat them right. But for someone new to framing, start cheap and slowly work your way up. Plus you won’t cry as hard when the other guys nail your cheap pouches to the trusses🫣

Get the vaughn California 23oz hammer. It's $50 and it's amazing, even the 19oz is good. I would also skip the nail set if you're short on money, and get the longest nail bar you can find.

my one argument is to spend a little bit more on a pouch. DeWalt makes one that's about $150. also don't worry about buying a fancy hammer and foremen will buy you one after you stick around for a while.

Couldn’t agree more. My grandpa got me these tools when I first started and still they are the most used tools I own 👌🏼
