I'm a good person because I intrinsically know it's the right thing to be. I would like to believe that it's just human nature to be kind to one another, despite how many horrible people there are in the world. The system we've created over thousands of years rewards selfishness and domination, but it doesn't have to be like this. Humans aren't meant to live like this, but because we do, many of us can't live up to our full potential of kindness and community. I, however, will not let the system drag me down with it. I will continue to be good and compassionate and empathetic, even if there is no reward waiting for me in the end.
