literally felt like being turned off and on again. no concept of being turned off. Just there one second and somewhere else the next without realising it lol

The ‘milky white substance’ is propofol… affectionately known to us in medicine as milk of amnesia haha

I hate the waking up part cos your throat BURNS from the tube. But the cup of tea and toast right after is elite

I had a strange experience I blinked and the next thing i knew I was in the recovery room asking if it had all been done. I felt like I had a power nap 😴

I'm an anaesthetist, and I really enjoy hearing people's experiences. some just switch off and on again, while others tell me they were dreaming (usually about something really pleasant). when I've gone under myself I've just gone off and on again but I wish I was a dreamer

I’ve been put under 3 times and it’s nothing like sleep. It’s like you’ve blinked like no time has passed. It’s the weirdest thing, no dreaming, no thinking it’s just nothing. I also hated being woke up 🤣

I'm awake wide awake after an anaesthetic. I've had about 20 and everytime they're like you'll feel sleepy for a few hours after, nah not at all.

Its death without the commitment. When I come round from anaesthetic I'm bawling my eyes out 😐

Apparently I’m an anomaly. Every time I’ve had general anaesthetic I’ve had full and long dreams! Totally strange but I’ve been aware I’ve been unconscious every time x

Really wish I had that experience. Every time I've been put under I've woken up doing my best impression of Reagan from The Exorcist 😂

It’s wild passing out in one room and waking up in another. I had my appendix out and that’s what I remember. It was so weird

I wanted to sleep more. they needed to make sure I fully woke up and everything was OK, all i cared about was more sleep. I kept asking "can I go back to sleep?" I was so relieved when eventually got to my bed and was let to sleep.

For me the sensation of the medicine goes up your arm, I looked up, seen like colourful circles and stars, blinked and woke up a second later and felt so groggy.
