I personally feel like people don't realise that the traveller started as a morally grey character. they didn't want to get involved in helping the inazuman rebellion against the shogunate. the traveller was more interested in helping individuals and destroying threats that could harm those they have a personal relationship with than entire nations. ofc that's changing now, we see them show more interest in saving more people, but yeah. I feel like they're more similar to the abyssal twin at the start than people realise; if they hadn't encountered and befriended amber they likely wouldn't have had any interest in helping with storm terror. they would've just gone on to do what they wanted to do, trying to find their twin no matter what

The Traveler is a very self-serving character, and it's so interesting to see them start slowly caring more about Teyvat as their journey goes on! It's very similar to the Abyss Sibling's story, as well.

Theres this one quest in Sumeru that I’ve done years ago but its still in the back of mind because of how traveller pulled a secret bad guy to the side and basically told him “either I deal with you right now or you leave and never come back” and I was honestly flabbergasted, traveler can honestly be pretty intimidating when they want to be

I like to think about that one animation where lumine and aether walked the same path for their journey. But while they are both different, they are VERY similar, parallel. The only difference is that the Traveler chose to go farther into the nations while Lumine cuts hers short for the abyss, they both have sorta same motives tho. They didn’t care about anyone but each other. And while the Abyss Twin started caring more for Khaenri’ah, the Traveler started caring for the people they’ve helped

seeing how the traveler went from being upset everyone just wanted the traveler to save them in Inazuma to wanting to help others in Sumeru (Dunyazard, Nahida, Jeht, Lilopur, Aranara, etc) felt redefining for him/her
