Hey, I just wanted to share something. I’m currently a Specialist, I have a Master’s degree, a GT score of 126, and I speak three languages. But honestly, I’m a bit worried about going to OCS because I don’t feel like my English is fluent enough. I don’t want that to hold me back or affect my performance.

Im from the Islands and they find it hard to understand my accent but it doesnt stop me... I came in there with one purpose which is to pass it, so i did it... As long as you're confident, thats good enough for them, cause you show them that you know what you talking about! So for me, its all about Confidence 💪

my leadership told me straight up that's my problem. accent!!! I have missed going to the board 3 times everyone is got to my unit made 5 already 😫 😢 am just here as an E4 mafia. sometimes it really hits you hard when you see someone you left basic with already a step forward.

Based on my experience, there's no need to worry about your accent. What truly matters is your character, confidence, and enthusiasm to become an NCO. I was awarded an excellence coin during my board, and they mentioned I had the best performance they've seen in the past five boards. Believe in yourself—recite the NCO creed from memory, prepare well for the board, and present yourself confidently. Wishing you the best of luck!❤️

I’m originally from Senegal and definitely have a strong accent and the leader was so proud if me cause they knew that English is not my first not even my second language but I still answer all the questions correctly and they ended up giving me a coin due to the hard work and confidence

I haven't personally , but one of my NCos did and still does.he went in there with a language barrier and still passed.took deep breath, studied hard and made up for the language with knowledge.he carri d that chip on his shoulder to show his language is not his limit

I will soon go for mine… my accent no concern me, my accent is my identity. And if I try to understand their accent, they should try understand my accent. So they better pass me..😂😂😂😂
