I’m thinking of the echo here between this Catholic dichotomy and the dichotomy between the growing orthodox/hasidic Jewish population and the shrinking reform/non observant Jews. Maybe this dichotomy is in all religions??

😊1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,😇Yes, Saint Ignatius of Antioch (c. 35-107 AD) is traditionally considered a disciple of the Apostle John and was a prominent leader in the early Church who third-in-succession to Peter as Bishop of Antioch. In his letters written around 107 AD, he famously declared, "Wherever the bishop appears, there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church".😇The first, second, and fourth popes are directly mentioned in the New Testament: Peter (Matthew 16:18), Linus (2 Timothy 4:21), and Clement (Philippians 4:3). While Cletus/Anacletus (the third) is part of the traditional apostolic succession, only three are explicitly named in the Bible.😇1. St. Peter (Matthew 16:18): Recognized as the first pope by Catholics, established by Jesus as the "rock" of the Church. • 2. St. Linus (2 Timothy 4:21): Mentioned by Paul in his letter to Timothy as being with him in Rome, generally considered the second bishop of Rome. •3. St. Cletus/Anacletus (Not explicitly named in Scripture): Traditionally identified as the third bishop. •4. St. Clement I (Philippians 4:3): Mentioned by Paul in his letter to the Philippians as a coworker whose name is “in the book of life".😇Archaeologists have uncovered a 6th-century Byzantine mosaic in el-Araj, Israel, believed to be the ancient site of Bethsaida, that refers to Saint Peter as the "chief and leader of the heavenly apostles". The Greek inscription, found in what is thought to be the Church of the Apostles built over Peter's home, strengthens the link between this location and the birthplace of Peter and Andrew.😇•does the term “Divide and Conquer” sound familiar🤔1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.😇there’s over 45,thousand independent denominations and multiplying and they don’t fully agree with their doctrine🤔Sola Scriptura or Sola Interpretation
