astrophysics major here!!! the best place to start is books, i have some reccomendations for more digestable physics if anyone needs :) whether that or an online course id reccomend developing a decent foundation in calculus itll help a lot !!

Books!! There are a lot about astrophysics for begginers without crazy math or physics. I can give recommendations if you want, i have 2 that are amazing about astrophysics

I know you don't want to hear this, but a great part of astrophysics is math and physics

Astrophysics student here. Definitely recommend looking up online courses, lots of universities offer them. Some even publish lecture notes for free. Search for introductory astrophysics if you’re just starting out. Then look into specialisation once you’ve covered the basics: things like cosmology, observational astronomy, astrobiology (very cool niche!!), solar physics, space plasma physics…. If you have any questions ever about understanding a concept feel free to shoot me a DM

I did lots and lots of studying on atoms then I went onto basic physics(waves, elements, ect) then I got onto the theory of relativity which then gave me confidence to study anything that Intrested me in astrophysics it takes time and patience to learn the basics before you can go ont bigger things

tbh i suck but what im currently doing is watching videos on relativity and like writing notes and explaining it on camera or to my plushies.. and I would suggest learning maths and physics at school and getting into a college that teaches astrophysics (but yea it needs maths.. but don’t worry about it rn maybe) but since you don’t wanna do math i would suggest searching some brian cox videos because i love him sm and like he just explains things soo well and he’s very smart so yeah, idk i just kinda learn like this.. but take notes and basically just try explain in ur own words and if you wanna go deeper just like for example if u learn about black holes, like ask questions like why they form and stuff idrk oh and also read NASA articles and just add math whenever your ready, there’s no need to rush so don’t burn urself out 😭

Calculus, linear algebra, programming with python (really, might not seem like it, but its one of the most important ones). After this you can start with basic astronomy, thermodynamics and mechanics. To truly understand you will need calculus, to go further with anything quantum related (which is also important for astrophysics) you will need a lot of linear algebra. To actually do something practical you will need programming

there's a website called openstax and they have free books on many subjects and as far as I remember also Astronomy, also look up video essays on YouTube, they're like watching a movie but you're actually learning something

Download apps, read astrophysics books and math books. I know math might not be everyone’s subject but it makes it so much easier to learn astrophysics and to understand it💕 also you could download the nasa app and keep up with any updates there is🫶 do a lot of research as well, astrophysicists mostly does research and experiments in their subjects so start there ✨

You should probably learn some math and physics, and once you know more about that, combine it with your knowledge about astronomy. Also knowing how to code with python might be helpful. Some universities offer free courses/materials online

look at the you tube Channel "physiks Explained", it's also about deriving equations for astronomy, very recommending for really understanding

As an astrophysics major, definitely don’t listen to the people saying that “you need the math for it to be real” you can deal with the math when you get there. First you need to understand the processes behind the math first. So what you’re doing right now, learning about space and such, is a great enough start as it is. If you have the chance, definitely take an astronomy class in highschool and continue watching videos and reading books about the topics. When I was younger, I loved watching kurzecsts videos (idk if that’s spelled right) for a simplistic view on bigger topics before watching more in depth creators.

learn basics of physics, learn calculus, but Khan Academy is PEAK. right after that you may watch some astrophysics yt channels like PBS Space Time (they are rlly sensitive about math and show some calculations every second)

My recommendation start off with reading popular science books such as stephen hawking and carl sagan. after that if you wish to get deeper into astrophysics it is quite hard to do without learning the maths first, calculus especially. openstax is a great free resource for that. after that you’ll probably have to seek out university textbooks. see what literature universities refer to and hope it is free online or spend loads of money on books. all of this is how it’s done in universities so the absolute best way to really get into astrophysics is getting a degree.

so if you wanna start adding in physics you have to start learning from classical mechanics, then wave functions, also chemistry a bit. For math you should learn differential equations and integrals. As for where. i would honestly recommend university notes
