does it take a day off of how long the cgm lasts or does it still last 15 days?

Heather Hodges :
But when I started the new sensor, it showed it started when it was inserted… so I lost a day!

MasarDrums :
Genuine question- What problems were you noticing that caused you to do this? Have seen a lot of people talk about it but personally haven’t had issues with false highs or lows after the 30 min G7 warmup? Or is it just a matter of wanting nonstop readings?

I use the Libre 2 and I’ve been told to do this. But when I scan the new one, it still takes an hour to warm up and the other one disconnects. Anyone have experience with this? I’m basically going an hour with no data.

Shoot, I don’t have that problem with it being inaccurate once I put it on but I do leave mine on when it tells me I have 24 hours to go cool and it says I have 12 hours. I don’t even go for that extra 12 hours so I get an extra like half a day in.

There’s a 12 hour warmup I have never heard of 24 hours.

Rob :
I always do that with my freestyle Libre. The reason it’s off for that first 24 hours is due to a couple factors. First being insert trauma. The second is the filament that senses the glucose needs time to “collect” a sufficient amount of glucose for the entire filament to be able to accurately sense glucose levels.

That is lost of 3 days a month x12= 36 days a year so 4 extra Dexcom a year got it.✌

I wait until the sensor expires and the 12 hour grace period starts before I put on the new one. I get several hours of soaking and seem to have decently accurate readings.
