@brutalismappreciation: The iconic atrium of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel, a landmark building renowned for its futuristic design. Designed by John Portman, completed in 1985, features a massive, 47-story atrium that was the largest in the world at the time. Its unique, flowing white balcony structures and vertical design have led it to be compared to sci-fi cathedrals and architectural masterpieces. The distinctive interior has served as a filming location for several major movies and shows, including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Loki, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Photo credit unknown. DR B :
The Atlanta Marriott Marquis atrium, designed by John Portman and opened in 1985, is widely characterized as a premier example of Expressionist or Neo-Futurist architecture, not traditional "Brutalism". While it uses raw concrete, its flowing, curvy, and biomorphic form contrasts with the rigid, angular geometry of 1960s-1970s brutalism.

It looks a lot like a spine with rib cage. The red lighting really solidifying that imagery, looking like the “muscles”.
