Because the local community have a department called Parks and Recreation. And their entire job in that community is to take care of the parks and recreational spaces. Taxpayer dollars go into paying for things like playgrounds and sidewalks and public restrooms and things like that.

The parks here really are so good! I'm blessed to live in the same city as the best park in the USA. The Gathering Place Tulsa is absolutely massive and free.

The US has a lot of issues but our parks are stunning! They are funded on city, state and federal tax dollars so they have good facilities -bathrooms, trails, grills, fountains, rentals for kayaks and snow shoes, good equipment and rangers/attendants to look after them.
