I would say do what Sinner did to beat Alcaraz. Neutralise Carlos’s forehand since he uses it to dictate and take control. Jannik was targeting the backhand—deep, heavy shots to force Carlos back and prevent him from dominating with that forehand. Sinner was using high tempo/high ball speed, along with heavy shots. Sinner was using his inside-out forehand to push Carlos back and draw errors. And controlled aggression to counter Alcaraz’s variety. And was controlling the centre. Be prepared for them to drop shots; neutralise them by standing close to the baseline. And take time away, like take the ball early to deny time. Use height variation. Step in on the second returns to take time away.
