I stopped celebrating my birthday a long time ago. nobody ever showed up. I'm 35 now. Never had a big birthday. 🤷‍♀️

This moment really touched my heart. When my little one turned 10, and we had planned a special birthday celebration at the park at noon. Unfortunately, nobody came, not one kid. So we moved the party to 1, but still, no one showed up. I saw that look of sadness on my child's face, and when she looked at me, I knew I had to reassure her. I softly told her, 'Honey, I will always be here for you.' We enjoyed cutting the cake, had so much fun, and even played on the slide together. She's about to turn 12 next week on April 21st, and she’s excited because she wants to take her one special friend to the Fun Center. Seeing her so happy makes me smile, though a part of me still feels heartbroken because I never want to see that sad look on her face again. this happened to my daughter. she was 7. she's 25 now...I can still hear her awful cry i can still feel her sobbing in my arms.. I still think aboit it everyday. ( we took her to the icecapades ( sp?) the next day. she brought up the ice show 3 nights ago to me said it is one of her favorite core memeories. she does not remember the "party" at all. im so thankful I carry that pain and she's got none of it 💜

I planned my 18th birthday and invited 20 friends. For the party I ordered 7 pizzas and bought enough drinks but no one came. I haven't planned a birthday party since then. i can feel this.

When my kids were young we showed up to every birthday party they were invited to. And sad to say there was a time or two that we were the only ones to show up. I told my girls that is why we show up, so no one celebrates alone!

Yep. I experienced this once with each of my kids.. never again. We do trips now. Beach, Great Wolf Lodge... I'll never rely on others for my kids happiness on their day. Dad has got it covered 💙
