Moved into a rental and our dryer door wasn’t even on… maintenance guy comes and forgets to reset the sensor so we still don’t have a dryer. My boyfriend was like “im gonna try the classic off and on again” and unplugs it for like 10 minutes to empty the dryers like energy supply idk im not a technical person and plugs it back in and bam it works. Basically people need to be better at their jobs. Maintenance guy is nice tho

I’m not an HVAC technician so I don’t really know. But it would seem like, to me at least, that making sure everything is plugged in and in the proper place should be step 1 if you are a professional. Great job Daisy.

Not a mechanical HVAC guy but I am a controls HVAC guy. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY DIDN'T CHECK THE SENSOR?! After they confirmed the unit itself is working that should have been the next thing they check! Either way great troubleshooting

This is why IT always starts with "Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?" because a troubleshoot should ALWAYS start with all the basics before we get to the complex and expensive. So often in cases of malfunction & repairs do I find the solution is something as simple as a reset or just a button that was pressed and had to be undid. I remember one time someone bought a new laptop because they said their screen on their old one didnt work after a year and I asked to see it. I hit the brightness button on it after making sure it was charging and on. screen lit up.
