Why do state registration value of the car not match what insurance/car market values the car at. For example I have a 2022 Corolla, 44k miles which that state values at 22k I bought it for around 24k, when I went to the dealership they offered me 17k the while we have some else who looking for you car. If was total the car could an argument be made that I should be given the 22k that state thinks my car is worth rather than the car market value of 17k?

there are a few reasons as to why you’d need a propane tank in the car. however, i would have my windows rolled down

Never transport gas cylinders in an enclosed vehicle. Always use a trailer, utility vehicle or similar with open air flow.

Yep if it was an intentional act or if she was aware of the risk then it may be considered an excluded act not covered

Maybe a propane tank that is for a grill...could have been going to have it exchanged or refilled...

We had a BMW 7 Series a few years ago with a broken engine. We didn’t know exactly what was wrong, but we had a suspicion, and it would’ve been extremely expensive to fix. So we sold the car for $6,000. If it hadn’t been broken, it would’ve been worth around $45,000.
About a week later, the new owner called and said the car had unfortunately caught fire, and asked if we could write a new sales contract for $45,000 instead 😂

I feel like propane tanks say not to put them in enclosed spaces and not to keep them indoors and things like that. I know I'm taking a risk every time I put a propane tank in my trunk instead of in the bed of my husband's truck

she most likely had the tank in the car to either get it filled or was on the way home from filling it so she could use her BBQ or something like that

Very similar thing happened to my grandpa in his camper. Lit a cigarette and the whole thing caught fire. He had burns over most of his body, but he survived

Our neighbor years ago was a welder. He stored his torch thing in his trunk, unsecured. He was smoking a cigarette as he opened his trunk one night... I honestly thought it was a house explosion. It took cops almost 20min to actually find him because no one knew what happened, so they weren't looking for a person at first. He did not survive. The house was scorched, siding was melted... I was so sad for the family. I wonder if his insurance would have paid to repair the house actually... or would that be a house insurance thing...

I can see how this would happen. You have an RV and you’re prepping to head out for the weekend, or you have a grill at home and need to refill the tank. Plenty of reasons to have a propane tank in your car. I’ve had the tanks for my RV not be closed all the way by the propane attendants, but I have a pretty strong nose and can instantly tell. I don’t think someone would light a propane tank anyway near them for the purpose of fraud. It’s a miracle she lived.
