That’s why I love when Kamala highlights black maternal health week , because she talks about the bills she passed as a senator to help black women . She doesn’t just only talk about the struggle black women face she actually helped pass bills .

This is especially true with higher up positions like president, senator, governor too. Policies regarding health care, federal taxes, entitlement programs, education all directly impact Black Americans. I think pushing local politicians for what they'll do specifically for their Black constituents is a bit different though. A mayor and city council will have more say in fixing up a specific side of town, putting in parks for children to play in, youth programs etc.
