@allthingsiceland: I wish I was joking… 🔥🤚🏾 😮 One thing that surprises a lot of visitors to Iceland is that the hot water can get very hot, very fast. In some places, letting it run for 10-20 seconds is all it takes before it turns scalding. 🚿So whether you’re washing your hands or hopping in the shower, always test the water first and ease into the hot tap. Not every place is like this, but enough are that it’s worth knowing before your trip. 🥚And yes, the hot water can sometimes smell like sulfur or rotten eggs. That’s normal here because of the geothermal water source. Especially in the capital area. It gets so easily dangerously hot it took me time to get used to when I moved here for uni.
