our schools 4th graders do something similar as an end of year project. they plan a trip to Disney World from scratch including transportation, lodging, food, rides they're going to ride, etc my daughter is so excited to do it this year!

We did something like this when I was in 6/7 grade and it was honestly really cool but we never got to make it fun like this we had to write an essay so this is awesome!
