@drbarthebracesdoc: #bracesemergency #braces #wireout #orthodontist #katytx If your wire keeps sliding out of the back bracket, it's not an emergency and it's not something you did wrong. 🦷 This actually happens a lot at the start of treatment, and once you understand why, it makes total sense. We use really thin, flexible wires in the beginning because your teeth need gentle, consistent pressure to start moving. The tradeoff is that those wires can flex when you chew and slip right out of the molar tube. It's one of those things nobody warns you about on day one. If it happens, grab a clean pair of pliers and gently guide it back in. If it keeps sliding out or starts poking you, use a small nail clipper to trim the end so you're comfortable.
