@bloomingearthherbal: Fermented Pineapple Honey We’re using the core of the pineapple not the fruit. Why? Because that’s where the bromelain lives. Bromelain is a powerful enzyme that helps break down thick mucus & supports inflammation in the sinuses, making this especially supportive during allergy season or lingering coughs. (Worth mentioning) you don’t want to use heat or acv when working with the core. Heat & acidity can degrade bromelain… which defeats the whole purpose of using the core in the first place. Recipe: 1 pineapple core (chopped small) Raw local honey (enough to fully cover) Optional but worth it (1/2tspcinnamon & 6-8cloves) I like to use a 16oz jar Directions: 1. Add chopped pineapple core to a clean glass jar. 2. Cover completely with raw honey (everything must stay submerged) 3. Loosely lid the jar (or burp daily) 4. Let sit on the counter for 3-5 days You’ll notice bubbling + the honey thinning into a syrup. Once it’s fermented you can strain & move to the to the fridge to slow the process. Best used within 3-6 months.

As a diabetic, I didn’t understand at the time why the cough drops would spike my glucose. I checked the package and it was about 10g of sugar in each!! It’s absolutely crazy.

At what age is it okay to give raw honey to your kids? Or does having it get fermented change that?
