as a clarinet player, the right hand goes on top and left hand goes on the bottom. ALSO the way you have the Ligature depends on what type. in your case it'd be the way you had it last time(I think. idk I have a leather one)

The direction of the ligature depends on the type of ligature you have. I think for that one you have, the ligature should be facing the way you initially put it. Generally the screws of the ligature should be on the right side.

For ur clarinet, ur ligature is supposed to be positioned where the screws r faced toward u. Most like, professional clarinet players have a different ligature where the screws r faced away from u. Correct me if I’m wrong clarinet players cuz im a clarinet player but not professional tho

So ligatures little dent is where the reeds go so the ones that are “backwards” probably use those plastic ligatures where the dent is abckward

there is a correct way. some ligatures are inverse. the way you know what way to put it on is that no matter what kind of ligature it is, the little things to tighten it are always on the right. so if those are on the left, it's wrong.

the correct way to put the ligature for beginners is for it to be facing you with the screws to your right (hope this helps)

Some ligatures are designed to go backwards. My current ligature is meant to go backwards but typically ligatures have the screws facing you. But you’re doing great!
